Delhi boy commits suicide

New Delhi, May 28: An 18-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his house here Monday, police said.

Harsh, a Class 12 student, hanged himself in his Surajmal Vihar residence in east Delhi around 1 p.m. Police suspect that the boy took the extreme step after he was refused a motorcycle by his family.

“No suicide note was recovered from his possession. His family members informed that he had been demanding a motorcycle for some time, but they did not want to buy. This morning he again repeated the demand,” said a police official.

Refusing to his demand might have led him to commit suicide, the official added.
