Jagan Reddy’s bail plea hearing adjourned till May 31

Hyderabad, May 29: A special CBI court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of YSR Congress party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s bail petition till May 31 in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

The court had on Monday dismissed Jagan’s bail plea while sending him to judicial custody till June 11.

Jagan, in his fresh petition, has sought bail on grounds that he wants to campaign for the party in the by-elections, scheduled to be held on June 12.

The CBI arrested Jagan on Sunday night after questioning him for three days.

Before the arrest, Jagan said it was a conspiracy by the ruling Congress and the main Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to create a law and order situation to postpone the June by-elections.

Jagan is accused of conspiring with his father to dole out favours to companies that invested in his businesses in a quid pro quo arrangement. (ANI)
