London, May 5(ANI): Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has ordered his players to win the final two games of the Premier League season to become the new champions of England.
City did a league double over local rivals and current English champions Manchester United, but Mancini is not satisfied with the feat and wants his team to rule over England.
Mancini has asked his team to capture their chance to make history and shake off the ‘typical City’ tag that has weighed down the under-achieving club before his arrival in December 2009.
“I don’t think it’s typical City now. In the last two or three years Manchester City have improved a lot but, I repeat, it changes nothing,” The Daily Mail quoted Mancini, as saying.
“We’ve showed we are a good team but, as I’ve always said, it’s important to be top when the championship is finished. We are the best team in Manchester probably. To be the best in the country we have to win the next two games,” he added.
“We are here because we want to do this (change history). It can be close but until it’s in your hands you don’t have it,’ he said. (ANI)
