Media awards on gender sensitivity

New Delhi, May 21: Population First, a Mumbai-based NGO working on women’s rights, health and population issues, has invited media houses to send entries for the fourth “laadli” media awards for promoting gender sensitivity in the northern region. The last date for receiving the entries is July 15.

“The northern region awards are open to advertising and media professionals/freelancers from Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand,” director of Population First A.l. Sharada said in a statement Monday.

“laadli” is a girl child campaign by Population First with the co-ordination of the United Nations Population Fund.

Sharada said that the northern region awards ceremony will be held in October. The National Awards ceremony will take place in Mumbai in November.
