Narendra Modi’s sarcastic remarks draw flak from Congress Party

New Delhi/Mumbai, May 27: The Congress Party has slammed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for the unparliamentary remarks made by him against the ruling UPA Government, and said that such remarks would not fulfill his desires to make it to national politics.

“The Chief Minister of Gujarat has crossed all the limits of dignity and mannerism. Such unparliamentary comments against UPA do not befit the stature of any chief minister, no matter how much frustration he might have been facing,” said Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari.

He further said Modi should assess his popularity in his own outfit, the BJP, before training guns at the Central Government.

“Two senior leaders did not care to participate in the rally. Another senior leader, as published in the newspapers, left the stage while Gujarat Chief Minister was addressing the rally. And everybody knows that how one politician had to resign to pave the way for Gujarat Chief Minister to attend the BJP’s national executive meet and rally,” said Tiwari.

“So, forget about Delhi, it will be great relief if these people confine themselves at their respective states level,” he added.

Narendra Modi had earlier on Friday compared the Congress-led UPA Government with tainted Godman Nirmal Baba.

Taking on the UPA already under fire for skyrocketing inflation, string of corruption and steep hike in petrol price, Modi said that he would have to register a case against the ruling government in the court of the masses.

“There is a government in Delhi, which is just like court of fraud Godman like Nirmal Baba, who claims that having a sweet would bless you. The government in Delhi also makes similar claims that ‘vote us to power’ and inflation would go away on its own, this is what they have said, right?” said Modi, while addressing a BJP rally in Mumbai.

“They had said that ‘elect us to power and we would ensure that inflation goes away in 100 days’, they had said like the fraud Godman give assurances. Nirmal Baba is going to jail but I have come to register a case against the government in the court of the masses,” he added.

Modi accused the government of not fulfilling the promises made during the elections. What kind of a government is this? They make false promises, mislead the masses while perpetrating their own schemes just like fraud Godman does. The people need to see through the government’s fraud. There are many in the government like Nirmal Baba, who are filling up their own coffers while befooling people,” he said.

Modi further slammed the government over the constant fall of rupees against dollar, saying there is conspiracy behind it and Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh must answer why it is falling constantly.

In respect to the country’s current deteriorating economic condition, Modi raised serious questions over the government’s capability in further running the country.

“The government in Delhi neither has a leader or policies nor a clear conscience. If the government doesn’t have a leader, set policies or clear intentions, we can see what harm it can cause to the nation,” he said. (ANI)
