London, May 17: Samir Nasri, who was sought after by both Manchester clubs but joined City in a 24 million pound deal from Arsenal, has taunted United by saying that he was right to snub Sir Alex Ferguson.
After winning the Premier League with City, he said: “When I was considering both clubs, City’s football development chief Patrick Vieira’s argument was that Manchester United are used to winning everything. If I had signed for them and played less well, it would not have been a success for me.
“Whereas City are building for the future, recruiting the likes of Sergio Aguero, and if I won the title with them, I’d be part of history – so I came to City to help the team -become champions.”
Nasiri said: “I have achieved that and now we want to win the -title again and go further in the Champions League.”
City boss Roberto Mancini is set to beat United to another target, with a 30-milllion pound deal for Lille’s Belgian winger Eden Hazard, The Daily Star reports.
Nasri said: “I think he will come to City because United have a lot of players on the wings. I was in the same -position as Eden Hazard last year and I chose City… and I don’t regret my choice.” (ANI)
