Washington, May 17: Democrat Barack Obama still has a seven percent advantage over his Republican opponent Mitt Romney as both contenders continue their respective campiagns for the U.S. presidential elections in November.
According to a Fox News poll, Obama has a lead of 46 to 39 percent over Romney.
Interestingly, three weeks ago both candidates were tied at 46 percent each.
About a third of the voters said that they are “extremely” interested in the election, and in that group, Romney topped Obama by 50 percent to 44 percent.
The poll said that overall, both parties are strongly backing their respective candidates with Democrats backing Obama 88 percent while Romney has a 84 percent support of Republicans.
Among Independents, 34 percent backed Romney while 29 percent supported Obama. 36 percent were either undecided or claimed not to have cast their vote. (ANI)
