New Delhi, May 15: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot called on Union Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma here on Tuesday during which the two leaders discussed various infrastructure projects.
Sharma after the meeting told mediapersons here that the construction of two roads in the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor was the focal point of his discussions with the state chief.
Sharma said that the construction of an airport in Rajasthan’s Alwar city was another matter of top priority.
“The two roads that are being constructed on the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor, one is the Bhiwadi-Neemrana Road and the other is the Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar Road. Other than this, a project on the mega leather cluster is to be created in Rajasthan,” said Sharma.
“There are some pollution problems in the textile sector in Jodhpur and its nearby areas. A special local committee to resolve this issue needs to be formed. Another issue of an airport, retro polis to be made in Alwar was also discussed,” he added.
Gehlot on his part praised Sharma, and said that as a member of the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan, the latter had taken a keen interest in the development projects of the state.
“We had a fruitful discussion and as you know the minister has been taking a lot of interest in the work in Rajasthan. He has been frequently visiting Rajasthan and we have a right on him, as he is a member of the upper house from Rajasthan,” said Gehlot. (ANI)
