Bomb found in suitcase in Jammu; diffused

Jammu, June 28: Police on Thursday identified and defused a bomb in a suitcase near a petrol pump in city’s Ranbir Singh Pura area.

According to a local Vikas Kajoria, people noticed a discarded suitcase lying near a petrol pump in the area, and informed the police.

Speaking to reporters, he said, “In the morning we found an unclaimed suitcase near a petrol pump, we informed the police and they came and interrogated. When no one came forward to claim it, the suitcase was brought to an open school field. When the suitcase was opened, there was a bomb in it, which was defused. We want the government to ensure that such incidents do not happen again.”

The police cordoned off the area and called the bomb disposal squad, who found a time bomb in the suitcase and successfully defused it. (ANI)
