Chinese buses set to be main mode of transport in Islamabad

Islamabad, June 5: A Chinese state-owned transport company, CRFG, has shown interest in providing AN affordable transport system for Islamabad.

According to the Daily Times, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Government is all set to launch the project during its tenure.

Capital Development Authority (CDA) sources said the company would finance the purchase of the transport fleet

Sources said that negotiations for the modern transport system were held during CDA Chairman Engineer Farkhand Iqbal visit to Beijing.

They said the president and the prime minister had tasked the CDA chairman to give the model transport system a priority.

The transportation system would include separate lanes at affordable prices and would be run on fixed times.

The sources further said that the new system would reduce vehicle density on the roads, as people would certainly prefer to travel by the new system, which would be cheap and comfortable. (ANI)
