Football goons disguised in England t-shirts running amok in Euros

London, June 12(ANI): Football goons in Ukraine are putting on England t-shirts as a disguise before going on a run riot, according to one of Britain’s top policeman.

Assistant Chief Constable Andy Holt, who is the head of the uniformed British police squad Euro 2012, also said the England fans have behaved very well so far during the Euro 2012.

“We have seen quite a lot of Russians with England shirts on – that’s great if they are supporting England of course. But if there is some disorder and it appears they are wearing an England shirt, I want my officers to go in there and establish what we’re dealing with,” The Daily Star quoted Holt, as saying.

“Then we’ve got it first hand, so we know whether it’s an English fan that we have a problem with. We have worked very hard to make sure that England fans are policed appropriately and if England fans do engage in disorder that we know about it and are able to deal with that,” he added. But what I don’t want is to have England fans mislabeled, and misidentified because it’s some other nationality wearing England shirts. So you can imagine we will be very careful to ensure that if there is any problems, we identify whom we are dealing with,” he said.

Around 5,000 England fans are at the tournament being staged in Poland and Ukraine, and British police in both Donetsk and Kiev, Ukraine, where England’s group games are being played, is marshaling them. (ANI)
