London, June 19: Former Davis Cup skipper John Lloyd believes Argentinean tennis player David Nalbandian can expect a rough ride at this year’s Wimbledon following his Queen’s shame.
The former world no. 3′s crazy kick at an advertising hoarding in the AEGON Championships final left line judge Andy McDougall with a gashed leg.
“Wimbledon is the world’s most polite place but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was booed, even there,” The Sun quoted Lloyd, as saying.
“He could get a nasty reaction. People were not impressed by his tirade and the way he tried to deflect blame,” he added.
Nalbandian, 30, is now the subject of a police probe but should avoid any ban from tennis, allowing him to take his place at SW19.
He was hit with a maximum 6,500 pounds fine plus was stripped of his 36,500 pound prize money after disqualification. (ANI)
