London, Sept 25: A 102-year-old man from England has revealed his secret to staying fit and healthy – five chicken roast dinners a week.
Darrell Love can’t get enough of chicken roast, having eaten one every week day since 1958.
Meat, two veg, potatoes, gravy and Yorkshire puddings have been on the menu around 260 times every year, meaning Love has ploughed through more than 15,000 in total.
The former decorator and fireman said that the chicken roasts are the secret to his long life and good health.
“The secret is good food and plenty of exercise,” the Daily mail quoted him as saying.
“I have a roast chicken dinner five days a week.
“People tell me I only look 83. I think the roast dinner is the basis of it all – it’s what’s helped me live all these years,” he said.
Love, of Plymouth, Devon, began his chicken roast diet in 1958 when he moved into a new house.
And although he sticks to the unusual diet on Monday to Friday, he does have a bit of variety on the weekends – reserved for fish and chips and soup.
Darrell was married to wife Edna, who he had a son with, but sadly both have now passed away. (ANI)
