C.P. Joshi gets additional charge of Railway Ministry

New Delhi, Sept 22: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways C.P. Joshi has been given the additional charge of Ministry of Railways.

Joshi, a Member of Parliament from Bhilwara, occupies the position, lying vacant after the resignation of Mukul Roy.

Roy, a Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader, submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Friday.

Roy was among the six cabinet ministers of TMC to resign after party chief Mamata Banerjee decided to part ways with the ruling UPA coalition, citing government’s “anti-people” policies as the primary reason for the move. (ANI)
