Holyfield held in contempt for failing to pay $500K in unpaid child support

London, Sep 17(ANI): Former heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, who has fathered 12 children from six different women, has once again landed in legal trouble after being held in contempt of court for allegedly failing to pay more than 500,000 dollars in back child support.

The Georgia Department of Human Services filed a lawsuit against the retired boxer on behalf of his 18-year-old daughter, Emani, whom he had originally owed nearly 373,000 dollars in child support.

But according to court documents that amount has increased to just under 564,000 dollars, the Daily Mail reports.

After being held in contempt by a Georgia judge, the 49-year-old was ordered to immediately start paying 2,950 dollars a month.

In response to the order, Holyfield shelled out $17,700 up front, reducing his total debt to 546,201 dollars.

But that was not the end of Holyfield’s troubles, as according to the reports the judge also ordered that a percentage of his income be earmarked to pay down his debt.

This is only the latest twist in a drawn out saga of financial problems and public relations calamities that have been plaguing the former boxer, best known for having a tip of his ear chomped off by Mike Tyson during the infamous 1997 ‘Bite Fight.’ (ANI)
