Islamabad, Oct. 11 (Xinhua-ANI): At least 11 people including three security personnel were killed and over 20 others injured when two blasts hit Pakistan’s southwest Balochistan province on Thursday afternoon, reported local media.
Local Urdu TV channel Dunya quoted unidentified sources as saying that a blast in Sibi district of Balochistan killed at least eight people and injured 20 others.
More than 15 shops nearby the blast site were also damaged, said the report.
The blast took place at about 2:20 p.m. local time on the Nishtar Road of Sibi, a district lying some 110 kilometers southwest of Balochsitan’s capital city of Quetta.
The bomb was fixed on a motorbike and it contained some 25 kg of explosives, said bomb disposal squad.
In another blast which occurred at about 2:45 p.m. local time, three security personnel were killed and another was injured when their vehicle hit a roadside planted landmine in Derabughti district of Balochistan.
Earlier on Thursday morning, a passenger bus was hit by a bomb in the country’s northwest tribal area of Orakzai, leaving at least eight people killed and some 20 others injured.
The victims belong to a local tribe which has an anti-Taliban stance, said local media. (Xinhua-ANI)
