New Delhi, Oct 18: Around 12.37 lakh non-gazetted Indian Railway employees will get productivity linked bonus equivalent to 78 days’ wages for 2011-2012, official sources said Thursday.
The union cabinet headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has approved the railway ministry’s proposal. Its financial implication will be over Rs.1,021 crore.
The bonus would be paid ahead of the Dusshera and Durga Puja festival holidays, said officials.
The wage calculation ceiling prescribed for payment of the bonus to eligible non-gazetted employees is Rs.3,500 per month.
