Islamabad, Oct 20(ANI): Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf is confident that the tour of International World XI will help revive international cricket in Pakistan, and added the tournament has the full backing of the PCB.
“It is a very good effort which the PCB fully supports and we have provided all out assistance to the organisers to make this event a success,” the Daily Times quoted Ashraf, as saying.
Ashraf said there was an ominous need to bring international cricket back to Pakistan and the PCB welcomes the tour of international World XI, that would play two matches in Karachi on October 21 and 22.
“The PCB acknowledges the efforts of Sindh sports minister Syed Mohammad Ali Shah for supplementing our ongoing endeavour for resuming international cricket in Pakistan,” Ashraf said.
Ashraf added that top security arrangements were being made during both the matches for the safety and security of the players to ensure a smooth event, and portray a better image of the country. (ANI)
