Washington, Oct. 9: Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal will take over the Republican Governors Association (RGA) in 2013, followed by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie in 2014, an RGA official confirmed.
Republicans have viewed the RGA chairmanship as an increasingly desirable post as the committee has gained financial power and prominence in national politics.
Both Jindal and Christie are potential presidential candidates in 2016.
According to Politico, under the current plan, Jindal’s vice chairman in 2013 will be Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
The Democratic Governors Association has not yet named its chairman for the 2013 cycle, but Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin is believed to be the top candidate for the job, the report added. (ANI)
