Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), Oct.10: The director of a leading cricket bat manufacturing company, BDM, Sudhir Mahajan, was kidnapped from here on Wednesday, and his kidnappers are demanding Rs.2 crores as ransom for his release.
Unknown persons abducted Mahajan at 1 a.m. on Wednesday, police said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) K Satyanarayan said the car used in the kidnapping has been recovered.
“We are conducting a combing operation based on the calls made by the kidnappers. We have been successful in locating the abandoned car in which the victim was kidnapped. We are searching nearby areas for more clues. Meanwhile, investigation is on. There was a call by kidnappers demanding ransom of Rs.2 crores,” said Satyanarayan.
The ransom money was demanded through SMS and phone calls to the family members.
Meanwhile, investigation is on and the Meerut Police has set up special teams to locate Mahajan. (ANI)
