Rawalpindi, Oct.18: Kashmiri leaders in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) have condemned the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) backed Difa-e-Pakistan.
Leaders of the All Parties National Alliance (APNA), an alliance of nationalist and progressive individuals, groups, organizations and political parties issued a joint statement in which they condemned what they called the “fiery and irresponsible speeches of the so called Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) at Muzaffarabad recently.
Among the signatories of the joint statement were Arif Shahid, Iqbal Advocate, Shahid Hussain, Professor M.A.R.K. Khaleeque, Farooq Niazi, Mirza Nadir Hassan Khan, Sardar Sabir Kashmiri, Hussain Parwana and others.
They accused members of the DPC of ” flaring the flames of war” in the region in the name of securing freedom for Jammu and Kashmir.
They were particularly severe on former Director-General of the ISI, Lt. Gen. (retired) Hameed Gul and his “lackeys”, asking them to fight and implement their agenda in Khyber Paktun Khawah (KPK), FATA, Quetta and Karachi, and not on Jammu and Kashmir soil.
The APNA leaderhip said Lt. Gen. (retired) Gul should not function like an outsider and use the land of the Kashmiris to pursue his personnel vendetta.
APNA declared that the people of Jammu and Kashmir were capable of dealing with enemies themselves and didn’t need help os such headless fanatics.
Pakistan, they said must stop its amaterish expeditions and adventures, which had divided their land and taken a toll of thousands of lives, besides taking away their freedom.
Describing Jammu and Kashmir as a “multi-religious and multi-cultural country that was destined to be a democratic and secular state”, they warned the so-called “fanatics” not to interfere in the region.
They said that such “obscurantist forces” who claimed power on the basis of “divine right” even in the 21st century, was condemnable.
The APNA leadership warned the DPC and its allies like Lt. Gen. (retired) Gul not to meddle in the affairs of Jammu and Kashmir, which they said was not a part of Pakistan.
They said the people of Jammu and Kashmir must be allowed to decide their own future. (ANI)
