Islamabad, Oct. 13: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaurdhry has said that the protection of the life and property of the masses in Balochistan is the responsibility of the Pakistan Government after state government officials failed to establish peace in the province.
Chaurdhry made his comments while hearing the Balochistan law and order case in the Supreme Court Quetta Registry.
He observed that there were evidences of the involvement of secret agencies in Balochistan and ordered the CID police to carry out investigation into the cases of missing persons and targeted killings in the province, the Daily Times reports.
According to the paper, Chaudhry also expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of police in the context of the deteriorating law and order situation in the province and claimed the officials should ensure security of the Baloch people.
He declared that all problems being encountered in the province had solutions in the nation’s constitution and all political issues can be solved through parliament, the paper said. (ANI)
