Thane (Maharashtra), Oct. 24: At least six people were killed in a road accident near Bhiwandi in Maharshtra’s Thane District early on Wednesday.
The accident is reported to have taken place around 2 a.m., when the driver of the jeep in which they were travelling lost control and hit a vehicle on the other side of the road after running over a road divider.
Police said the mishap occured at Nagla village in Bhiwandi town.
The victims were returning after attending a Navratri festival. One person has been admitted to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The victims have been identified as Kashinath Patil (17), Devendra Tangdi, (19), Ashish Tangdi (19), Yadnesh Deolikar (19), Kundan Raikar (25) and Vaibhav B Raikar (27). (ANI)
