Queensland university students who created ‘Slut’ Facebook page vow to return

Sydney, Oct. 13: The two Queensland university students, who had created a controversial Facebook page that was shut down yesterday, have vowed to return to “uncover other problems in society”.

The page, “(Controversial Humor) 12 year old slut memes”, created under the names of Queensland University of Technology students James Silverwood and Dom Terry, called on users to submit photographs of young girls deemed to be “sluts”, and encouraged them to comment on the images.

The page had more than 216,000 followers before it was canned yesterday, and had been the subject of intense debate in online forums and panel shows in the UK and US, News.com.au reports.

According to the report, the two QUT students said in their last post that they created the page to “bring to light the fact that many girls under the age of consent are sexualising themselves in provocative photographs that they themselves post on their own Facebook”.

“Watch this space” were their last words on the now defunct page, the report said. (ANI)
