Greater NOIDA (Uttar Pradesh), Oct. 25: Red Bull and Australian driver Mark Webber has claimed that his team has a good chance of winning the Indian Grand Prix that is took place at the Buddh International Circuit this weekend.
Interacting with media on the sidelines of a promotional event, Webber said: “We have a chance to win the Grand Prix on the weekend and we are off the back as a very strong performances as a team, but we don’t rest at all. We know that every race is a new challenge for us and we have some tough competition and we need to get at the top of the game to perform and win. And we are prepared to push ourselves to the limits starting from Friday to get the right result come Sunday. So that is the team’s goal and yeah we are looking forward to the competition.”
Cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who was also present, predicted a great future for Formula One in India.
“Formula One has a big future in India because of the kind of enthusiasm and excitement people had, last year and even this year, is outstanding. I think the kind of people that went there to watch to Formula One and the amount of excitement everyone showed, the kind of hype it had in India was tremendous so I definitely feel that Formula One has a big future in India,” said Gambhir.
The Indian Grand Prix will take place on October 26, 27 and 28.
The Buddh International Circuit has 16 corners (nine of them right-handers) and cars hit a maximum speed without using DRS of 315kph. Average lap speed last year was around 206kph. The 1.12km straight is one of the longest on the calendar. (ANI)
