Guwahati, Oct. 29: A rock show was recently organized in Assam’s principal city of Guwahati to motivate youth to consider a career in the armed forces.
The event was also organized to pay tribute to Kargil War martyrs.
“Join Indian Army” was the theme of the rock fest where bands from across the north-east performed.
During the event, tribute was paid to Captain Jintu Gogoi, a Kargil war martyr from Assam.
Gogoi was bestowed the Veer Chakra posthumously.
The event titled “Fireball” aimed to bring together different bands from the region on one platform, and motivate the youth to join the armed forces.
“This show is all about India Armed forces. We organized this music festival especially for the youth to motivate them to join the armed forces. Most of the youth have come for this show and it will motivate them to join armed forces,” said David Koach, one of the organizers.
Security forces have played a significant role in maintaining peace and harmony in the northeastern region that was affected by militancy.
They have been regularly organizing camps and training sessions to motivate the youth from all the northeastern states to join the armed forces. (ANI)
