RSS leader urges media to exercise restraint and not cast aspersions on body’s stature

Nagpur/New Delhi, Oct. 26: Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) leader Bhayyaji Joshi on Friday urged media to exercise restraint and not cast aspersions on the organisation’s stature.

In a statement issued today, Joshi said the media was making statements about alleged irregularities by the RSS and its leadership, and added that this was causing a lot of consternation in RSS rank and file.

He said that the RSS has been consistent in stating that it has no role to play in the allegations that are being cast on leaders of its sister wings, and added that it has been an article of faith with the RSS that any individual or organisation indulging in any kind of illegal activity should be subjected to an impartial probe, and thos found guilty, should be punished.

Joshi further said in his statement that the fight against corruption must take place in an environment that was non-political and non-partisan, and appealed to one and all not to promote allegations that could shake the faith of the people.

He said that sensational and careless airing of reports would only affect the campaign against corruption, and even lead to it loosing steam. (ANI)
