New Delhi, Oct 29: Sachin Pilot, who assumed charge as the Minister of State for Corporate Affairs (Independent Charge), on Monday said all investigations related to companies in India will be conducted in a transparent manner and without any bias.
“We need to give the people of India a transparent functioning environment, whether in government, or in corporates. If any wrong doing comes to the fore, law will take its course,” he said.
“We need to deal with irregularity firmly and there are laws for that. But I don’t want to create environment of fear, so we need all stakeholders to come together,” he added.
He further said: “If something needs to be tweaked to make functioning better, I am willing to do that. Trust and credibility of government and institutions must be maintained at all costs.”
The government announced a major cabinet reshuffle on Sunday, where 22 ministers, including ministers of states, were sworn in.
The reshuffle, which has been on the cards for six months, may be Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s last chance to significantly change the direction of his government and convince voters the ruling Congress Party deserves a third consecutive term in 2014. (ANI)
