Abu Dhabi, Oct 15 (IANS/WAM) Officials of the UAE have held bilateral talks with their counterparts from Portugal, Algeria, Iran and Australia’s Victoria state.
In Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Abdullah Mohammed Al Hamed, director of the European Desk at the foreign affairs ministry, met Portuguese Ambassador to the UAE Jimmy Van Zeller Laitau and exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, minister of higher education and scientific research met visiting Algerian Minister of Postal Services, Information and Communication Technologies Musa Bin Hamadi.
The Algerian minister hailed the development of the UAE in all spheres.
In Dubai, Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, speaker of the Federal National Council, received Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Parliamentary and Consular Affairs Hassan Qashqavi, and discussed the latest regional and international developments.
In Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, ruler of the emirate of Sharjah, received Alex Chernov, governor of Australia’s Victoria state.
The two officials discussed ways to promote cooperation between Sharjah and Australia in various sectors, especially in cultural, educational and medical fields.
