Dubai, Nov 1: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is set to receive the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of Arts and Letters), the second highest French civilian honour presented by the French government.
The actress’ publicist confirmed the development to tabloid! and said a speech will be delivered by the star at the investiture ceremony, Gulf News reported.
With this feather in her cap, she joins the glorious list of celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, George Clooney and Meryl Streep who have been honoured with the same French cultural award.
According to reports, the entire Bachchan clan is making plans to witness the felicitation ceremony and celebrate her achievement.
Her husband Abhishek has reportedly taken a break from his ‘Dhoom 3′ shooting in Chicago to be a part of her big day.
She was due to receive the Officer Ordre des Arts et des Lettres honour in 2009, but she declined since her father had fallen ill. (ANI)
