Pitt donates $100,000 to support same sex marriage

Los Angeles, Nov 1: Actor Brad Pitt supports gay marriage and has decided to donate $100,000 (62,000 pounds) to fight for it in the US.

The actor, 48, is matching donations to an activist group, days before voters in four states decide if same-sex marriages should be allowed. The decision will be taken in coming days through voting in Maryland, Washington, Maine and Minnesota, reports thesun.co.uk.

“It’s unbelievable. Voters will decide if gay and lesbian couples, our friends and neighbours, are worthy of the same protections as everyone else. I’m not going to back down from the fight of loving and committed couples to marry,” Pitt was quoted as saying.

Pitt and his fiancee Angelina Jolie have vowed not to tie the knot until everyone has the right to marry in the US.
