New Delhi, Nov 8: Delhi’s Education Minister Kiran Walia Thursday urged city schools to spread awareness among students about the ill-effects of smoking and drugs.
Walia was awarding winners of a painting competition organised at 967 government schools on drug abuse in a function organised at Delhi Secretariat here. Over 4,90,000 students participated in the painting competition.
“Say No to Drugs” is the mantra of the government to tell school children and educational institutions about creating awareness among them against the drug menace,” she said.
She said students must be made aware about the ill-effects of drugs whether they are consumed in the form of liquor, alcohol, smoking or any type of other drugs which weakens the human body.
The function was jointly organised by the department of prohibition and the department of education.
