New Delhi, Jan 8: The external affairs ministry Tuesday asked Delhi Police for details of four foreigners arrested — later released — for allegedly passing lewd comments at a woman here.
“We have asked for the details and will take it up with the concerned missions,” a ministry spokesman said. He said the four have been released.
“None of them are serving diplomats. They have a diplomatic passport, they are relatives of diplomats,” the official said.
The four were arrested Monday night for obscenity after they allegedly passed lewd comments at a woman employee of a five-star hotel in Connaught Place.
A police official said one of them was from Yemen, another from Algeria and two others were from Libya.
The men were in a car belonging to the Yemen embassy.
