Hanoi (Vietnam), Jan 15: Vice President Hamid Ansari on Tuesday met his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Thi Doan here and discussed about strengthening bilateral ties.
Ansari arrived here on Monday on a four-day state visit as part of events marking 40 years of India-Vietnam friendship and the fifth year of their strategic partnership.
After a wreath-laying ceremony at Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum here, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the field of micro, small and medium enterprises.
The pact was inked by Dao Quang Thu, Vice Minister of Planning and Investment, Vietnam and Ranjit Rae, Ambassador of India in Vietnam.
Ansari is also expected to meet President Truong Tan Sang followed by a meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, and Nguyen Phu Trong, Secretary General of the Communist Party of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam today. By Mrityunjay Singh (ANI)
