London, Feb 18: People’s bodies and minds are at their peak at 26 but after 27 their fitness levels drop rapidly, a new study has claimed.
The Heart Foundation study showed that about one fifth people stop exercising after 26, and by 56 most of the people turn into couch potatoes, the Sun reported.
Twenty per cent of the people surveyed blamed married life for their laziness and half asserted that they were less content due to their longer working hours.
Most of the 2,000 people, who were surveyed, said that their diet was better and exercised regularly when they were 26.
One third said that they had more time before their kids were born.
Other “negative lifestyle changes” included moving out of their parent’s home and a loss of income.
About 33 per cent of men said that they drank less at 26, and many said that they were fittest while they were playing sports at school or in college.
Only ten per cent said that they were always conscious of their weight in the hope of attracting a partner. (ANI)
