Rio de Janeiro, Feb 3: Former PSV Eindhoven and Brazil international striker Diego Tardelli rejoined his former club Atletico Mineiro, the Brazilian Serie A outfit confirmed.
The announcement comes after Qatar’s Al-Gharafa reportedly accepted Atletico’s 5.5 million euro offer for the 27-year-old, reports Xinhua.
“It is confirmed, he is ours again,” Atletico president Alexandre Kalil wrote on Twitter Saturday.
Tardelli scored 73 goals from 103 matches during his first spell with the Belo Horizonte club from 2009 to 2011. Along with two-time FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldinho, he will be one of Atletico Mineiro’s star attractions during this year’s Copa Libertadores.
