New Delhi, Feb 24: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Sunday justified the hike in the electricity fare, saying the people will have to pay more if they want round-the-clock power and asked to use less if anyone you cannot afford hiked charges.
“When we are supplying power round-the-clock, the opposition is saying the bill is too high. If you consume electricity for 24 hours, then you may not pay for five hours only. If you cannot afford the electricity bill then cut down your consumption,” said Dikshit, while addressing a public gathering in the national capital.
Earlier in the month, Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal had alleged the Delhi Chief Minister and her government of having a nexus with power distributing companies in Delhi.
Kejriwal had accused Dikshit of increasing electricity fare to benefit those big companies involved in power distribution. (ANI)
