Glenn McGrath to be inducted into Australian Cricket Hall of Fame

Sydney, Feb 3: Former Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath will be inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame on Monday.

McGrath will be alongside one of the few Australian bowlers with a better Test average than him.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, McGrath’s induction will be the latest in a long line of honours for the pace great, who became a member of the ICC Hall of Fame in December.

The 42-year-old was also named Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1998, won the Allan Border Medal in 2000 and was named a member of the Order of Australia in 2008.

The tall, accurate and consistent quick’s 563 wickets in a 14-year Test career, which ended in 2007, remains the most by any fast bowler and fourth-highest overall. He also took 381 wickets in 250 one-day internationals.

He said that he was lucky enough and felt amazing to be inducted in the Hall of Fame which is a huge honour, the report added. (ANI)
