Wellington, Feb 19: Web giant Google has said that working at home or ‘teleworking’ is not the best environment for new ideas to grow and thrive.
According to Google’s chief financial officer Patrick Pichette, very few employees at Google work from home because it is counterintuitive and could isolate employees from other staff, Stuff.co.nz reports.
Pichette further spoke about the benefits of working at office, stating that it increases sharing, spending time together and discussing ideas which is important for the development of their company, personal development and the building of much stronger communities, which he added, is the case in Google.
He also cited a cartoon in which the main character ends up working from home half-naked because those in videoconferences with him can only see him on screens from the waist up. (ANI)
