Government appeals to bank employees not to join nationwide strike

New Delhi, Feb 19: The government has expressed disappointed to note that a section of the bank employees has decided to join the countrywide two-day strike called by several trade unions on Feb uary 20 and 21.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has made an appeal to the unions not to go on strike, saying that the government has also set-up a Group of Ministers (GoM) to talk to the their leaders.

According to a press release from the government, it has been said that there is really no reason at all for the bank employees to join the strike, because none of the main points contained in the charter of demands has any connection with them.

In view of the above, the government has once again appealed to the bank employees not to join the proposed strike. (ANI)
