Government urges political parties to let Parliament function smoothly

New Delhi, Feb 19: Amid potential ruckus during the upcoming Budget Session of Parliament from the opposition parties over issues like the chopper deal scam, price rise and hanging of Afzal Guru, the government on Tuesday urged all political parties to ensure it functions smoothly.

“I urged all the parties that members come not to obstruct parliament but to ensure it works,” said Parliamentary Affairs minister Kamal Nath.

He also sated that the government is open for a Join Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe in the AgustaWestland deal for 12 VVIP choppers.

The budget Session of parliament will starts on Feb uary 21.
