Interstate Mewati criminal arrested in Gujarat

New Delhi, Feb 1: An interstate criminal, wanted in cases of robberies and carjacking carrying a reward of Rs.50,000, has been arrested in Gujarat, police said Friday.

“Mohammad Farooq, a resident of Mewat in Haryana, was arrested from Surat Jan 30,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav.

Farooq was involved in a robbery at Hira Jewellers in north Delhi in June 2012 along with his brother Mohammad Arif and other associates Mohammad Aslam, Mushtaq, Wahid, Sunil, Sakim and Shahnawaz, Yadav said.
