NFL players appeal for end to gun violence in new ad

Washington, Feb 9: A group of National Football League (NFL) players has teamed up with an organisation promoting gun law reforms in the United States and have featured in a video public service announcement against the growing number of gun violence incidents.

Marshall Faulk, Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders, Emmitt Smith and LaDainian Tomlinson have joined DemandAPlan.org, which is a part of Mayors Against Illegal Guns and appeared in the ad demanding a stop to the illegal gun violence and have called upon political leaders to take relevant steps, Politico reports.

Praising the ad, Boston Mayor Thomas Menino expressed his gratitude to the sport personalities for choosing to speak out against gun violence, and added that more voices were needed to pressurise the Congress to pass legislation for a safer America.

DemandAPlan.org has received the support of notable celebrities like Chris Rock, Amanda Peet, Tony Bennett, Adam Scott and Anna Deavere Smith for the cause. (ANI)
