Washington, Feb 19: Republican Senator for Florida, Marco Rubio has pulled in some serious cash since his water sipping moment during the Republican response to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address.
Rubio’s political action committee (PAC) has raised more than 100,000 dollars from selling ‘Rubio’ water bottles since he took that awkward sip of water during his State of the Union rebuttal last week, Buzzfeed reported.
According to the New York Daily News, the Reclaim America PAC began offering the red and white “Rubio” water bottles on Wednesday for a donation of 25 dollars or more.
A source close to the Florida Republican told Buzzfeed that more than 3,100 of the bottles have since been snapped up.
Rubio has worked to spin the water drinking incident to his advantage after becoming the butt of jokes with his ill-timed reach for water on Tuesday night.
He tweeted a photo of the tiny Poland Spring bottle after his speech and later joked about the moment in television interviews. (ANI)
