Balochistan’s prosecutor general mysteriously disappears

Islamabad, Mar 1: Balochistan Prosecutor General Abdul Wasey Tareen has reportedly gone missing while travelling from Quetta to Islamabad.

According to his family, Tareen and his driver left for Islamabad via Zhob-Dera Ismail Khan in his car on Tuesday. He contacted his son in the evening before reaching Zhob. However, after that call there was no response from the cellphones of Tareen and his driver, reports The Dawn.

Tareen’s brother, Sajid Tareen, said the family has had no contact with the law officer for more than 24 hours. He said Balochistan Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and senior officials in Zhob had been informed about Tareen’s disappearance.

The BHC chief justice has taken notice of Tareen’s disappearance and issued notices to the chief secretary, commissioner of Zhob division and federal interior secretary in this regard.

The Balochistan Bar Association has announced that it will boycott court proceedings on Friday in protest against the disappearance of Tareen. (ANI)
