New Delhi, March 12: The BJP Wednesday welcomed the Supreme Court observations that the allocation of coal blocks prima facie seemed to be arbitrary and said the party will pursue the issue to its logical conclusion.
“We welcome that the Supreme Court has started monitoring of coal allocation scam,” Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told reporters here.
Noting the court had told the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to not share information of its probe into the allocation of coal blocks with the political executive, he said: “We will take the issue to its logical end”.
The Supreme Court Tuesday said the allocation of coal blocks prima facie seemed to be arbitrary and the procedure adopted by the government does not appear to be legal. It warned of cancelling the blocks if procedures were not followed.
