New Delhi, March 8: Beverages giant Coca-Cola India said that it organised a retail training programme for 1,000 women across 13 cities on International Women’s Day Friday.
“Coca-Cola India believes that investing in women makes social as well as business sense,” said Atul Singh, president and chief executive, Coca-Cola India and south west Asia.
“We are happy to be able to play a role towards social inclusiveness and we are working to scale up our initiatives in a larger geography,” he said.
According to the company, its retail training programme Parivartan has trained over 135,000 retailers in the country.
The programme includes learning modules on shop, stock, customer and financial management.
“Training women in retailing skills is a step to economically empower women under The Coca-Cola Company’s global 5BY20 initiative,” the company said in a statement.
