Contracutal teachers protest outside Bihar Assembly

Patna, Mar 5: Bihar Police baton charged contracutal teachers outside the state assembly here on Tuesday over their demand for permanenet employment.

Police used water canons and fired teargas shells to disperse the protesting teachers. The agitated teachers threw stones and other sharp objects during their demonstration.

Over 2000 people, who were part of the protest, later set fire to two police jeeps and one mini-bus.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), however, backed the Nitish Kumar Government following the latest developments.

“The Bihar Government has said that it would consider the demands of the teachers. So, they should not indulge in such protests,” said BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain. (ANI)
