New Delhi/Ahmedabad, Mar 1: The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has expressed shock at the passing away of his party colleague from Gujarat, Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Mukesh Gadhvi.
Dr. Singh said that in the sad and untimely demise of Gadhvi, a promising political career had been cut short. He offered his deepest condolences to the family, friends and admirers of Gadhvi.
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed grief at Gadhvi’s demise.
“Sad to know about the demise of Banaskantha MP Mukesh Gadhvi. My condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace,” he tweeted.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day today after tributes to sitting member Mukesh Gadhvi. The Members of Parliament observed silence for a while as a mark of respect to the memory of the departed.
Congress MP from Banaskantha, Mukesh Gadhvi, breathed his last in Ahmedabad this morning.
Gadhvi, 50, was a member of Gujarat Assembly for three terms from 1998-2009.
He is survived by wife, two daughters and a son. (ANI)
