New Delhi, March 3: Sketches of suspects have been prepared in the case of a seven-year-old girl’s rape in a municipal school here, police said Sunday. No headway has been made in the case despite the questioning of over 400 people.
“We have prepared some sketches on the basis of the victim’s statement and interrogated around 400 people. But we are yet to trace the rape accused,” said a police officer.
The Class 2 student was allegedly raped in the a civic agency’s school in Mangolpuri in north Delhi Thursday.
“She was discharged drom hospital Friday,” said the officer.
A violent protest occurred outside the school and the hospital Friday as rumours spread that the girl was in a critical condition.
Five people – including school inspector Balraj Singh, principal Neelam Karwal, class teacher Monica Kohli, school attendant Sushila and watchman Kailash – were suspended and a five-member committee was constituted to suggest measures for strengthening security in civic schools.
